An acclaimed teacher who taught the fine points of the game to everyone from major champions to public players following a playing career at Northern Illinois. His doctorate thesis on teaching methodology established Doc Suttie as a leader in the field. A summer fixture at Chicago-area courses for over 35 years. Coached Eastern Kentucky men’s team to two conference championships in the 1970s, then coached Paul Azinger at Brevard Community College in Florida. Named PGA National Teacher of the Year in 2000. A three-time Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year.
