Hart served thirty-seven years with the Hinsdale Golf Club, his quiet, congenial manner admired both by his club and his peers. He played the PGA Tour for nine years while serving as club professional. In 1963, he set the record for low 36-hole total in the PGA Championship, which stood until Paul Azinger broke it in 1988. In 1965, he won the longest sudden death playoff in Azalea Open history, beating Phil Rodgers. A PGA Championship qualifier for ten straight years, and five-time U.S. Open Qualifier, Hart scored eight holes in one during national competitions. Dick was a PGA Club Pro Series champion, winning the Illinois Open and the Illinois PGA Championship three times each, and the Illinois Match Play twice. His years of dedication to the game in all capacities earned him the title of “A Man for All Seasons.”
