Winner of 1964 Women’s Western Open, 1965 U.S. Women’s Open and 38 LPGA tournaments overall. Vare Trophy winner 1968, leading money winner 1969. Became serious about golf at Olympia Fields; quickly became standout junior, winning Women’s Western Junior and CWDGA Junior in 1958. President of LPGA 1973-1976, bringing tour into modern era. First woman to regularly broadcast women’s and men’s tour telecasts. Founded first design firm headed by a woman. Inducted into LPGA Hall of Fame in 1977.
