Raymond Anderson

A skilled administrator, expert on the rules and talented amateur golfer, Anderson excelled in all aspects of the game. Anderson's efforts toward the improvement of the game was evident in his involvement with numerous local golf associations and the USGA. He was CDGA president from 1984-85 and WGA president from 1994-95.

While president of Oak Park Country Club, Anderson served on the USGA Sectional Affairs Committee and was a director of the Illinois Seniors Golf Association.

Following election to the USGA's Executive Committee in 1989, Anderson was named chairman of the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship in 1990 and chairman of the Green Section in 1991. A three-time champion at both Riverside and Oak Park, Anderson qualified for the 1953 USGA Amateur Championship, and the USGA Senior Amateur in 1984 and 1985.
