Ed Oldfield,Sr.

One of the truly great golf instructors of our time, Ed Oldfield Sr. has a long list of renowned students including LPGA champions Betsy King and Jan Stephenson, plus numerous amateur greats and winners of the USGA girls, senior women's and senior men's Championships. Included among his students are three USGA Curtis Cup members and two USGA Women's World Cup players. Ed has lent his talents to the PGA of America as the featured speaker at national teaching and coaching seminars throughout the world, and as co-author of the PGA Teaching Manual use to train the golf professionals and teachers of tomorrow. Elected as a PGA Member in 1957, Ed Oldfield Sr., served as head golf professional at the Glen View Club from 1961-1989. Later the first president of the Merit Club, where he was a force in bringing the 2000 U.S. Women's Open, Oldfield is the pro emeritus at The Glen Club.
